In cooperation with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Organizations of Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, we established a three-fold basis for the necessity of our Involvement in this process. These were to:
(1) Work closely with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Government officials and representatives (Ambassador and Consulate)
(2) Assist in mobilizing the community to participate, and
(3) Reinforce the fact and perception that the process was free from partisan politics.
COSAGO as the umbrella body of the Vincentian organizations in New York, has a vital role to play in harmonizing the work and outreach of the plethora of associations. The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines is committed to forging closer ties with its citizens in the Diaspora and COSAGO is ideally placed to act as the focal point for this worthwhile endeavour.
Overseas Vincentians have a significant role to play in the social and economic development of our small, beloved country. Salutations to all the organizations that work so diligently to be able to make a contribution, in whatever form, to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The COSAGO members in particular are recognized for their time and talent for so willingly doing this important work. The Permanent Mission of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines wishes COSAGO complete success in its sustained efforts on behalf of the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines - whether in New York or at home.
